Abstract

Hydrometeorological disasters, including floods, extreme rainfall, and landslides, can disrupt access to health services, nutrition, psychosocial support, and continuity of antenatal and childbirth care. Pregnant women require specific health planning during emergencies. This community service activity aimed to provide education on reproductive health during pregnancy and strengthen understanding of preparedness for health risks associated with hydrometeorological disasters. The activity used a participatory educational approach through lectures, interactive discussions, question-and-answer sessions, PowerPoint presentations, and leaflets. The source manuscript reports 40 participants: 20 pregnant women described as being at risk of chronic energy deficiency (CED) and 20 family companions. This composition must be verified against the actual activity location and date. Topics included routine antenatal care, nutrition, complication prevention, birth preparedness, and access to health services during emergencies. The reported evaluation relied primarily on observation and oral questions. Participants reportedly engaged in discussions about nutrition, family support, and childbirth preparation during emergencies. Since quantitative evaluation scores and standardized instruments were not provided, these findings should be interpreted as indications of engagement and demonstrated understanding during the activity, rather than measured evidence of effectiveness or increased preparedness. Health education can contribute to promotive and preventive efforts when supported by structured evaluation and coordination with health workers and referral facilities.
